Hello!
For today's beauty tip on Friday
I thought I'd share a few tips on how to get rid
of blackheads!
(the most glamorous of topics!)
❤
So some of these may be things you've heard before but this
is some of the methods I do use or have used to keep blackheads from
popping up!
A blackhead extractor
Now if you're one who loves to pick at spots and such
then this is your best friend.
You literally put it over the blackhead/spot and press gently and
the gunk comes out, gross but very effective.
Tea tree oil
This can dry your skin out a little so I wouldn't use
it every night but after a thorough cleanse of your skin,
you can put a tiny amount of tea tree oil on a cotton pad and sweep over
your problem areas to keep blackheads at bay.
A purifying mask or clay mask
Clay masks are great for dragging out impurities within the skin
and leaving you looking and feeling squeaky clean.
This can be a DIY kaolin clay mask or a ready made one from your
local beauty shop.
I've tried glam glow and it is no different than any £4 mask so
just pick up any that say 'clay mask' or 'purifiying'.
Lemons
Take a slice of fresh lemon (I always keep lemon wedges
in my freezer for this) and rub it wherever your
problem are is whether it's your nose, chin or forehead.
This step should be done after cleansing your face -
make sure you don't get it in your eyes or it will sting!
& you can either sleep with this on or wipe it off ten minutes later!
A facial scrub or microdermabrasion scrub
If you've read my blog for a while you will know that my all
time favourite face scrub is the body shop microdermabrasion scrub,
it's very gritty but gentle on the skin and it just cleans everything from
my pores; the vitamin C in this also makes my skin look really bright and
awake.
You can steam your face first, by hovering over hot water in your sink and then
gently exfoliating with any facial scrub you may have;
your blackheads should be removed with little effort!
(You don't want to scrub too hard and take your skin off, be gentle!)
and finally...
Retin A
something I have used on my skin on and off for many years now,
when I went on the contraceptive pill several years ago my skin freaked out
due to the change in hormones and I developed cystic spots under my skin,
after doing some research and a trip to my doctor I got this miracle.
It balanced out my skin and cleared up any scarring and spots BUT
it also kept blackheads away for good!
The only downside is this can cause peeling and a purging period at first but
after you get through it your skin is 10x better!
This is only available through your doctor but it is easy to get your hands on,
I'd recommend trying this if all else has failed.
So there we go!
I hope this was helpful &
