Hello!
Today I thought I'd do a post about my top 10 favourite
make up products from the high street/drugstore
that cost less than £10 each!
Perfect for those who are on a budget or even if you just like a make up bargain!
I did cheat for one product but by very little!
So if you're interested then keep reading below!
-long post/photo heavy-
As you can see from the overview of products above I picked a selection, there was no
point in discussing 5 different eyebrow pencils for example so I picked 10 items
from different categories,
foundation, concealer, bronzer, blusher, eyebrow product, powder,
eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara & lipstick.
First let's start with foundation.
Bourjois healthy mix foundation - 30ml - £9.99 - link
The foundation that I use most recently is the Bourjois healthy mix foundation,
I do have a mini review of this HERE.
but just a quick run down of why I like it;
The packaging is great for the price, it's a sturdy glass bottle with a pump,
the pump also screws off, so once you can no longer pump it you can dig the rest out.
Secondly it doesn't cling to dry patches which is always nice in the colder months.
It provides a medium coverage that isn't cakey.
I did originally prefer the serum version of this foundation but this has grown on me, I'd
say if you have oilier skin then opt for the serum version as it has a semi matte finish & this
provides a more luminous dewy finish which I powder anyway but as it's becoming
colder I think I'll stick to the dewy formula.
& lastly the thing that is make or break with foundation for me is the smell,
It's fruity and not overly perfumed!
Next we have concealer!..
Essence match 2 cover cream concealer - 2.3 g - £2.50 - link
I did a mini review of this product also that you can check out HERE, along with a
few other Essence products but just to summarise;
This product surprised me as it's so cheap, I expected it to crease like crazy BUT
this concealer is very creamy and pigmented yet the creasing around my eyes was
very minimal.
I also like how it comes with two shades so you can cover blemishes with one and
brighten under your eyes with the other, or even mix them together.
The lightest shade is such a good match for my skin as I'm very pale but quite
yellow toned so this is great!
The darker shade is more towards the peachy tones so it could be used lightly
under the lighter concealer to correct darkness.
Next up, powder.
So this is my one cheat product, I thought it was better to go over by £2 and be honest about
what is amazing than suggesting a powder that I don't use or don't highly rate.
This is a translucent powder that stops my face from getting oily
for a good 4/5 hours.
The packaging can be a bit temperamental the first couple of times you open it but
the product itself is amazing, it makes your foundation look blurred and flawless,
great for if you have larger pores.
It comes in a super handy compact with a mirror and very soft powder
puff for touch ups.
If you want to see what it looked like before I destroyed it then click here.
Next up is bronzer
Sleek contour kit in 'light' - 14g - £6.49 - link
This product is so reasonably priced for what it is, a high quality, long lasting,
highly pigmented highlight & contour duo (they also do this with a blush included)
You can either dust a little of this around your face to bronze it up or use some
on a denser brush to create a contour and highlighting effect.
It's not too orange or muddy in colour which is a problem with pale skinned bronzers
and this kit is even available in darker skin tones.
The powder feels so soft, it's almost buttery.
It glides on easy and evenly, it's the perfect starter kit or travel accessory.
it has a decent sized mirror for if you're on the go & the packaging is nice & sturdy.
I also like how the highlighter isn't very gold despite it being slightly misleading in
the compact, it's a silvery champagne kind of colour.
(as you can see it's well loved!)
Next up, blusher.
Makeup revolution blusher - treat - 3.4g - £1 - link
This blusher is an absolute gem amongst high street products,
with cheaper brands it can be hit and miss but the blushers from this brand are great!
They come with a super cheap price tag of £1 and in return
you get a high level of pigmentation and quality.
Blushers in general never last more than a few hours on me as I powder my whole face so
I guess it just blows off throughout the day :')
But this lasted just as long as a nars blush would on me.
The powder is very soft so if you heavily swatch it then it will crumble and
look chalky, you need to be very gentle and apply very little.
This peachy coral colour was great for the summer months and I'm now looking
toward their other shades for autumn & winter!
Below is a photo of this blusher lightly swatched.
I also have a two part review of make up revolution if you're interested in trying anything
from this brand then I'd recommend checking those out first.

Next up is eyebrow product;
Soap & glory archery brow pencil - 0.085g - £8 - link
Now I'll start by saying I do have a full review of this product and a comparison to the
Anastasia brow wiz HERE.
But skipping over most of the details from that post, this pencil is pigmented and has
a very fine tip which makes it easy to create a perfect brow shape or draw in brow hairs.
It comes with a spoolie which is handy to comb through the brows and blur product
if you apply too much.
it's leans slightly warm toned which I'd prefer it not too but overall it's an incredible dupe
and the best high street/drugstore brow product I've ever used.
Next up is eyeshadow;
Maybelline color tattoo - pink gold - £4.99 - link
For eyeshadow I chose a cream eyeshadow which I'm not normally the biggest fan of due
to creasing but I love this range of cream eye shadows as they don't budge!
This is one of my favourite products to swipe across my eyelids for day to day wear,
it's quick and easy & I know it will stick around all day.
They are also an amazing base for powder eye shadows, they come out really
intense.
Next up is eyeliner!
Collection glam crystals - funk - 6ml - £2.99 - link
I'm not the biggest eyeliner fan by any means, I have very little eyelid space so
a thick line of black eyeliner makes my eye lids appear non existent,
However a think line of glitter eyeliner either above my top lashes or under my bottom
lashes doesn't make my eyelids disappear and let's face it, I love glitter,
I'll find any excuse to wear glitter
(if I get glittery hands in lush then I wipe it in my hair ... no shame- I wish I was Edward Cullen)
if you're not into a line of glitter then you can always use the method that I have shown
below, By putting a little bit on your finger and then patting it, it creates
a thin, even, sparkle...perfect for Christmas time ;)
I just like to do this for added sparkle without being too over the top.
Next up is mascara!
Loreal miss manga - black - 8.5ml - £8.99 - link
This was another of those drugstore finds that surprised me,
I don't normally like bristle brushes, I'm a plastic brush lover but as the brush
looked like a dupe for a lancome mascara that I had I thought I'd give it a go.
I did however end up loving this product and bought a back up,
It gives me length and volume while being easily build able and also not
clumpy.
I didn't get the most dramatic lashes but they were pretty good for using
just one mascara! It great to throw on in the mornings as
it doesn't take forever to apply or have a hard to use brush.
It's just an overall good mascara, one of the best drugstore ones that I've found.
I'm prone to getting panda eyes and even waterproof mascaras smudge on me but
despite this one not being waterproof, it's not too bad on the smudging front!
and finally we have lipstick!
Rimmel provocalips - make your move - 7ml - £6.99 - link
I do have a full review HERE.
This lip colour is long lasting, transfer proof & non drying.
my only downside is the plastic smell/taste but that can be over looked.
I can eat while wearing this and it sticks around all day without
cracking or flaking.
It feels so soft that I forget that I'm wearing it which you don't expect
from a product with such lasting power and pigment.
I'd pay YSL prices for this product and it blows a lot
of my pricier lip products out the water.
Phew! that was a long one!
so that was my top ten under £10!
(well kinda')
Have you tried any of these products?
what are your top ten under £10?
