Bourjois volume 1 second waterproof mascara review.

Hello
As you can see by the title, today I will be sharing my thoughts on the relatively new
mascara from Bourjois.
I've had this mascara for a few weeks and it's had a thorough testing!
So if you want to find out more then keep reading!

Mascaras are a hard thing to review as everyone has a different desired effect and different needs, for example I need a waterproof mascara as my lashes
are quite long and around my eyes seems to attract any mascara that I apply and leave me looking like a panda within the hour.

This formula is very watery so it doesn't tend to stick to your eyelashes very well,
you may have to do a few very thin coats if you're looking for something
more than minimal and let it dry between coats.
It does glide on easily but it doesn't stick too well.

The size of the brush takes some getting used to, it's huge but after a few goes
you will get the hang of it.
As you can see below it is a plastic bristle brush, quite a large one at that. If you don't like plastic brushes then this isn't the product for you!
(I think it's meant to be a bit of a benefit they're real dupe)
This product gives you the impression that it provides volume in one second, I found it to provide little volume and certainly not in a second.
It wasn't the most lengthening but it didn't really claim to be, I just found it didn't really stick to my lashes very well on the several times I tried it, I do like it when combined with other mascaras though, but I wouldn't say this is a quick use mascara unless you want
quite a natural look.

(I found it worked well when I used the Rimmel accelerator mascara and then
one coat of this on top but it still transferred)

This product didn't clump on me which is a bonus but I think it's down to being a thin formula.
I didn't notice that this was particularly waterproof especially as this does transfer after a few hours on me and it's also quite easy to remove with regular make up remover or cleanser.

and finally, it doesn't smell weird! which is something I seem to come across a lot with mascaras and I really don't like putting something so heavily fragranced on my eyes
and this smells like your average mascara.

The three things I look for in a mascara are lasting power, no transfer
and being easy to build up.
Sadly this product didn't tick any of my boxes.

The photos below are one full coat and then a second coat just on the tips of my lashes.
As you can see, it's nice for a daily mascara or something natural but with other
mascaras I know I can get my lashes a lot longer or fuller.

Overall this product isn't for me which is a shame as it's so highly raved about,
I'd give it a 2.5/5
I can't comment on the original formula as I opted for waterproof but for this
I found  it was pretty basic and I could get the same results from a cheaper mascara.
Bourjois do some amazing mascaras though (queen attitude is a favourite of mine)
I wouldn't repurchase this in the future simply because I've had other mascaras that I have liked more and also the same effect from cheaper alternatives.
I also found it to transfer quite badly after a few hours (which I'm prone to)
So I will stick to other products that don't give me black eyes!

Hopefully this will save you some money if you have super smudgy eyes
or like dramatic long lashes like myself!

Have you tried this product?
Do you believe it's worth the hype?
